Will Vandals Attack Elvis Statues Next

Remember this post from June 23rd?

Could It Happen?

Could mobs of radical crazies decide Elvis appropriated the music of black people — and tear down his statues?

The trend with these anarchists is scary.

I don’t know why I didn’t consider the Graceland Wall as another target – but it was yesterday.

    Hi Phil,

I hate to see this! This is just terrible. It angers me to my soul!!! I am glad Elvis is not here to see this travesty. Elvis did not do anything to deserve this act of violence. He only had love for those all around him. Shame on everyone of the offenders-criminals that did this. Elvis did not steal from anyone-EVER! These rioters NOT protesters (criminals) are just all about hate and creating division among us . I hope these rioters get caught and put in jail for the damage they cause and continue causing. EPE needs to beef up their security. Elvis brings in so much $$$$ to Memphis and the people there should be appreciative and show some respect to Elvis and be thrilled with what he left us -his music. Elvis is a legend and will always be a legend—4-EVER!
    Peace,
    Dea

  2. I definitely anticipated this happening, it was a matter of time. Just thought it would be closer to Elvis Week for more publicity for these fools. However there must have been some security that week so they avoided it—obviously no security lately! This took awhile to do, how could no one have been alerted? Shame on EPE.

  3. This is terrible it just shows what a bunch of uneducated idiots these people are .

  4. Hi Phil,
What a shame, anyone who knows anything about Elvis certainly knows that he was friends as well as a big supporter of black people. EPE supports local charities and employs many people at Graceland. Very disappointing I hope they get arrested.

  5. Really sad. I thought about it. Protect our sacred areas. Elvis stuff is just that.

  6. Absolutely disgusting! But I would like to say to Bob, who posted above, there is nothing childish about this. They also did it to the Levitt Shell, apparently for the sixth time. Watch the local news about it online, rep Parkinson is very casual about the whole thing.

  7. I don’t think anyone would have thought anyone would attack Graceland or Elvis especially over an issue such as this. The only thing I could think of is if they attack something like this it gives much publicity to their cause. Unfortunately it’s an easy target and hopefully security has been improved, even if it means less money in the EPE and others coffers. Graceland and Elvis are considered so special and almost holy like that I know Elvis fans would be up I arms and it will only damage there cause and there are millions of us who would protect Elvis till the end of the earth
