We took a look at Elvis’ Fabulous Rings back in May. In the article, I suggested you check out Elvis’ hands in any of his jumpsuit pictures, because he would usually have three or four on each hand. Now, look at the picture below. There are no rings on his right hand. Continue reading
Moving Elvis Mr. Potato Head Parts Around
I’ve done two previous articles on the Elvis Mr. Potato Head figures. The first was favorable, and that resulted in me getting an e-mail thank you message from from Dean Gorby of PPW Toys, the company that makes the Elvis Mr. Potato Heads for Hasbro. I wrote back and asked if I could get some in-house photos of the Elvis Live, as the first model was called. Continue reading

Elvis Mr. Potato Head, Part 2 and 3
Most Elvis websites and blogs noted the announcement of Elvis Mr. Potato Head back in June. Some were actually hostile to the idea, but I liked it and said so. I may be old, but I like my Elvis toys, and this is a good one. Continue reading

CLEANING OUT MY FILE OF LISTS
You have probably seen different types of Rock & Roll lists presented in the media. Over the years, I’ve been able to write a full ElvisBlog column about three of them. Continue reading

Rock Around the Dock
In the early years of his career, Elvis performed in all sorts of venues: high school gymnasiums, amusement parks, VFW Halls, county fairs, honkytonks, you name it. But did you know he even gave one performance on a riverboat – one that the police declared was unsafe to sail? It happened on March 23, 1956 on the Potomac River in Washington, DC. Continue reading

ELVIS AND JOHNNY RIVERS
I love doing a little digging to find out what kind of connection Elvis had with other rock & rollers. In the case of Johnny Rivers, it goes all the way back to early 1955, before Elvis was a big star, and before Johnny Rivers was Johnny Rivers. At that time, he was Brooklyn-born John Ramistella, a twelve-year-old growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Continue reading
