Elvis' First Trip to Las Vegas was a Blast
A few weeks ago, when I was reviewing pictures in my files for the recurring feature Postscripts to Earlier Elvisblogs, there were several photos from Elvis’ first appearance in Las Vegas. That was his two-week engagement at the New Frontier Hotel’s Venus Showroom from April 23 to May 6, 1956. Continue reading

We took a look at Elvis’ Fabulous Rings back in May. In the article, I suggested you check out Elvis’ hands in any of his jumpsuit pictures, because he would usually have three or four on each hand. Now, look at the picture below. There are no rings on his right hand. Continue reading
Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan and Elvis
Google Images search is best if you enjoy going to unusual websites. You just click on an interesting Elvis picture and you never know what you might find. That’s how I found a most interesting story about Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol, and one of his Elvis paintings. Continue reading
Elvis Mr. Potato Head, Part 2 and 3
Most Elvis websites and blogs noted the announcement of Elvis Mr. Potato Head back in June. Some were actually hostile to the idea, but I liked it and said so. I may be old, but I like my Elvis toys, and this is a good one. Continue reading

For years, I was a regular Saturday morning scavenger, hitting as many garage sales as possible, looking for records. Continue reading

It’s interesting how I regularly uncover pictures on the internet that would have made great illustrations for stories posted just weeks or months earlier. I guess that is the inevitable result of spending too much time cruising around looking for Elvis content. Continue reading

LEGO Elvis: Last August we looked at Mixed-Media Elvis Art, featuring Elvis images made from an incredible variety of materials. Since then, the photo of an interesting Elvis bust showed up. It is made entirely of LEGOs: Continue reading
ElvisBlog's 5th Birthday — A Look Back at the First Elvis Blogs
On January 30, 2005, the first blog devoted to Elvis made its debut. Five years and 800,000 hits later, ElvisBlog rolls on. There have been many changes, so it’s fun to go back and look at the first three articles that started things off. Continue reading

It’s been four months since the last Postscripts, and lots of interesting photos have cropped up that relate to earlier blogs. Here’s a look at several of them. Continue reading
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ignores TCB Boys Again
The Rock & Fall Hall of Fame announced the Class of 2010 inductees today, and for some reason, they skipped the Sidemen category. This means that Jerry Scheff, Ronnie Tutt, Glen D. Hardin and John Wilkinson will have to wait at least another year to join TCB band leader James Burton in the Rockhall. Continue reading
