Elvis for President?
If you live in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina (as I do), you have withstood a barrage of political pitches on TV, in the mail, and on the telephone. After a while, it gets to be too much, and … Continue reading
Happy Valentine's Day, Elvis
Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love, so my original plan for this blog was to present a photo montage of Elvis kissing girlfriends, fans and movie co-stars. However, accumulating enough pictures to do this right has been a slow process, so look forward to seeing it in 2011. For this year, here is a photo essay of different images that connect Elvis and Valentine’s Day. Continue reading

A Belated Look at Elvis' Most Expensive Jumpsuit
Back in early August, the Elvis websites with news sections all carried the story about his famous Peacock Jumpsuit selling for $300,000. I wanted to find a different twist on the story to do on ElvisBlog. Continue reading

An Elvis Bootleg CD I Really Want
A while back I checked in with Darwin Lamm, Publisher of Elvis…The Magazine, to see what the theme would be for the next issue. It was “Back To Vegas” – the 40th anniversary of Elvis’ return to live performances in 1969.” Continue reading

I have been a Bo Diddley fan since my high school years, so this is my small tribute to the rock & roll legend who died today at age seventy-nine. There isn’t a huge connection between Bo and Elvis, but there are a few goodies. Continue reading

Cruising through the Internet is one of my favorite ways of finding ideas for ElvisBlog columns. I doubt that there are many websites devoted totally to Elvis that I haven’t visited at least once. But, I have a special joy … Continue reading

FTD TOP 40
The ElvisNews.com FTD Top 40 list is compiled from reader responses. You will note that Elvis Is Back is the most popular FTD CD this month. It was released in 2005 and contains studio recordings from the March and April 1960 sessions at Nashville’s famous Studio B. I was particularly happy to see it on top, because the original Elvis album of that name has always been my favorite. Continue reading

SEARCHING FOR ELVIS IN RENO, SALT LAKE AND JACKSON HOLE
“Elvis is everywhere.” That statement has been repeated numerous times here in Elvisblog, and it’s been fun to report the never-ending ways in which the sentiment has been validated. So, it is a pleasure to report great Elvis-hunting success during our recent 2700-mile trip through six states to visit four National Parks. Continue reading

ELVIS COMMENTARY MINI-NUGGETS — # 12
Colonel Tom Parker’s Dancing Chickens: Many Elvis fans know that Col. Parker managed Eddie Arnold and Hank Snow before taking over Elvis’ career. However, I’ll bet you didn’t know this. According to www.leftlion.com, Colonel Parker once had a carnival act … Continue reading →
