Remember this picture of sharp-looking Elvis from last week. Alert reader Delores sent this message, “The photo with the number 256, below on the left, is cropped. The original is Elvis talking to Jim Brown on the set of ‘Roustabout.’” That jogged my memory, and it turns out I already had another photo of them together in my files.
This one had to been taken during the same conversation. Good catch, Delores.
Two weeks ago, I mentioned I could not find any photos of Ginger Alden at Elvis’ funeral. Well, Bent from Denmark came through again and sent me a link to this picture.
If anyone knows of a photo of Ginger at the funeral that actually shows her face, let me know.
Remember this picture that alert reader Diana pointed out a phony, with Elvis’ head Photoshopped on Marlon Brando’s body. I said I didn’t have time to look for the original, and two readers did it for me. Jeanne at the wonderful Facebook page Pompadour sent this picture.
It looks like the Photoshop jockey flipped the image horizontally.
I posted this last week without any information about where it was shot. Delores came through again with this: “The picture with the cop is from Oakland California – June 3, 1956. He is being escorted by Oakland police at Oakland Auditorium.”
OK, here are some new Elvis photos I had never seen before this week
This is a cool shot. Is that Lisbeth Scott, Elvis’ costar in Loving You, in the middle? The tree is sitting on a concrete slab, so can it even be living?
Is this Elvis deeply pondering something or in a pose during a stage performance? Anybody know?
What a terrific photo. I hope nobody writes to tell me it is Photoshopped. I hope someone does write to advise when and where it was taken.
This is obviously a real picture of Elvis and his dad. The tag on Pinterest said it was taken at Graceland after his mama’s death. If you study the emotional pain on Vernon and Elvis’ faces, it sure sounds like the right description. What a sad time they went through.

That photo was taken in the RCA sound studio while he was recording.
Hi Craig: Thanks for the additional information on this photo.

Hello Phil: The photo of Elvis pondering something appears to be from a recording session. He seems to be listening to a playback. Regarding the tree photo, this is where Elvis got the idea for the song “Tree Be Nice” – I’m joking of course!
Hi Gerard: I loved your joke. I thought I might build a blog around it, including any other pictures I could find with Elvis and trees, but there weren’t enough. I even Googled “Fuzzy tree” and they couldn’t come up with anything worthwhile.

Elvis Pondering: the photo is a Nashville recording session in April 14, 1956.
Hi Delores. Thank you. I continue to be impressed with your ability to peg the date and place for these Elvis photographs. How do you do it?
